They loaded their farming possessions, furniture, machinery and livestock into a railroad cattle car and traveled to Parkerview, Kansas. After years of successful farming, Andrew and Lucy retired from the farm and moved to Wilsey, Kansas (1916-1918). Andrew J. is found in the 1860 Pennsylvania census, Huntingdon county, Brady township. He is age 2. He is found in the 1870 Illinois census, Warren county, Spring Grove township. He is age 12. The Monmouth Review of 26 July 1885 states that "A.J. Campbell started Monday morning of this week for a trip through southern Iowa combining business with pleasure. He will return in the fall to teach school." The Monmouth Review of 12 February 1886 "announces the marriage of A.J. Campbell and Carrie Hibbard, both of Kelly township. They were married at the home of J.T. Campbell." The Monmouth Review of 26 November 1886 states that A.J. Campbell had sold his interest in the Clearfield Iowa Enterprise and would return to teach in Kelly where he had taught the year before. The Monmouth Review of 3 December 1886 says that A.J. Campbell arrived in Alexis to take charge of the Star school that winter. The Monmouth Review of 3 September 1895 mentions that Captain A.J. Campbell of Chicago was in Monmouth the evening before for a short visit with relatives and friends. A.J. is found in the 1900 Illinois census, Warren county, Kelly township. He is a farmer age 41 who has been married for 14 years. He owns his farm free of mortgage. The Monmouth Review of 3 March 1903 mentioned in the Alexis news that A.J. Campbell was moving with his family to White City, Kansas. Mr. Campbell and family had been residents of the vicinity for a great many years and have a great many friends who regretted to see them leave. The Alexis Argus of 26 February 1931 mentions that a former Alexis couple had been married 45 years. There was a long account of their anniversary held 8 February 1931 in Wilsey, Kansas where they lived. They were married in Alexis 6 February 1886 and shortly after that moved to Iowa where they had an interest in a newspaper. Later they moved to Kansas and settled in the Central neighborhood north of Wilsey where they raised their family.
